Ryan Dungey Grabs First SX Win at Daytona

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team’s Ryan Dungey raced to his second straight Monster Energy AMA Supercross victory and fourth of the season Saturday night at Daytona International Speedway. It was his first time winning the race at Daytona. GEICO Honda’s Eli Tomac crossed the line in second followed by Blake Baggett of Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing in third.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team’s Marvin Musquin took the 250SX East win in Daytona, earning his third victory of the season. GEICO Honda’s Justin Bogle finished in second place followed by Yamalube/Star Racing/Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin in third.

Ryan Dungey Scores Third Win of the SX Season

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team’s Ryan Dungey became the first three-time Monster Energy AMA Supercross race winner of the season. Joining Dungey on the Atlanta II Supercross podium at the Georgia Dome before 53,000 fans was GEICO Honda’s Eli Tomac in second and Team Honda Muscle Milk’s Trey Canard in third.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team’s Marvin Musquin led wire-to-wire en route to his second Eastern Regional 250SX Class Championship win of the season. Yamalube/Star Racing/Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin finished in second followed by GEICO Honda’s Justin Bogle in third.

Phoenix SX Big Win for Eli Tomac & MMI Graduates!

Eli Tomac with Team Geico Honda bounced back from a disappointing performance in last week’s season opener to claim the first 450-Class Supercross win of his career Saturday night in Phoenix. Ken Roczen with RCH Racing finished second in Phoenix after his victory last week and Team KTM/Red Bull’s Ryan Dungey secured the final spot on the podium after passing Weston Peick for third with three laps to go.

The top three teams at the Phoenix race all employ graduates of MMI:

Team Geico Honda has over five MMI graduates on the team. Brian Kranz is the technician for Eli Tomac.
RCH Racing has three MMI graduates on the team
Carlos Rivera is the technician for Ryan Dungey, KTM/Red Bull.

Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha’s Cooper Webb scored his first career Supercross victory in the 250 SX West battle in Phoenix, crossing the line more than five seconds ahead of second-place rider Malcom Stewart of GEICO Honda. Troy Lee Designs’ Jessy Nelson, winner of the opening round at Anaheim and overall division points leader, grabbed the final step on the podium.

All three 250-Class podium winners have MMI graduates for technicians:

Eric Gass, technician for Cooper Webb – Team Star Racing Yamaha
Derik Dwyer, technician for Malcom Stewart – Team Geico Honda. Derik was also awarded the “MMI/AMSOIL Top Tech Award” for the Phoenix race, earning him a $1,000 check to his name!
Jordan Troxel, technician for Jessy Nelson – Team Troy Lee Design/KTM

Prior to his role with Team Geico Honda, MMI graduate Derik Dwyer was a technician for Jeff Alessi and Jake Canada with Team MotoConcepts.
